Daniel Radcliffe has revealed a cute milestone which his baby boy has reached. 

The Jewish star welcomed his first child with long-term partner Erin Darke, who he has been dating for over 10 years, in March.

Now the Harry Potter icon has spoken for the first time about his life as a father after the 33-year-old was spotted pushing a pram in New York City.

Recalling how his little boy started smiling, he said: "He's smiling and that's all I need. 

“Like, that's awesome. Some people have to wait a lot longer for that, so I'm really happy with that."

Speaking of his wider parenthood responsibilities, he said: “It's a crazy thing, but it's also really beautiful.

"Watching my girlfriend become a mum is really the most incredible, beautiful thing to be witness to. So, it's great.

He also admitted that he'll change his approach to acting jobs because he wants to be at home to see his child grow up.

In an interview with E! News, he added: “I'm sure I'm going to probably, for at least a few years, become a little more selective about how much I work just because I really enjoy spending time with him and I'd like to continue doing that.

"But obviously, I love my job and I'm not going to stop doing that."

A spokesperson for the Harry Potter star previously confirmed that he had first become a father in March.

They said that the couple were "absolutely thrilled" to become parents. 

A source told The Sun: "Daniel is so excited to be a dad. His relationship with Erin is really special and everyone thinks they will be amazing parents."

"They have kept it pretty quiet up until now but she can't hide her bump anymore.

Radcliffe and Darke met while working together on Kill Your Darlings in 2012.
