abbinic couple/Rabbi to lead and inspire our community, looking after the religious, spiritual, educational and pastoral needs in a way that is both engaging and motivating to our diverse community.The successful Rabbinic couple/Rabbi will engage with our existing members, whilst at the same time attracting new members to continue the legacy that the community has built. Yeshurun has strong links to the local Jewish primary school, the only one in South Manchester, (our founder members also having founded the school) and has enthusiastic young families whom we are keen to nurture and develop further.
As a modern orthodox synagogue, we are looking for a Rabbinic couple/ Rabbi who is prepared to reach out to a community of diverse observance, whilst upholding the ethos, customs and practices of Orthodox Judaism.
The ideal candidates will be self-motivated, energetic, well organised and have excellent communication skills, and will utilise those skills to engage and inspire our members with empathy, warmth, enthusiasm and innovative thinking.

About the role
We are seeking a passionate and creative Marketing & Communications Executive to join the BNJC team. In this role, you will support the development and execution of strategic marketing plans that align with BNJC’s vision to revitalise Jewish life in Brighton and Hove. You will work closely with the Head of Marketing and Communications on building the BNJC brand, as well as the brands of our various businesses including Novellino Brighton and Shoresh Nurseries. Maintaining a cohesive message and visual identity across all marketing outputs is a key element of the Marketing Executive role.
The Marketing & Communications Executive will have experience in creating compelling content across various physical and digital marketing platforms and driving brand awareness and engagement for a small to medium-sized business, charity or community organisation. You will have an understanding of industry best practice, GDPR and data protection regulations and safeguarding standards as well as a keen eye for market trends and competitor activities.
You will support the planning and promotion of events, and programming activities across our community hub and be responsible for creating promotional materials, from brochures to website content, social media content and developing copy for email newsletters, blogs, press releases and proposals.
The Marketing & Communications Executive will play a vital role in fostering partnerships and sponsorships and coordinating joint marketing initiatives to amplify BNJC’s visibility and impact. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Assistant Head Teacher to join our dedicated team at Shoresh Nursery.

Shoresh Nursery is a Jewish independent day nursery for 0–5-year-olds, inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and Montessori pedagogy. We can accommodate up to 38 children across our 2 micro settings, Shoresh Pre-School and The Nest, which is home to our exclusive baby and toddler provision. With a child-centred approach to education, Shoresh aims to inspire and motivate our children to be independent learners. Our EYFS curriculum which is deeply inspired by the Montessori approach and the philosophy of Reggio Emilia is integrated with teaching Jewish values, practices and customs as well as celebrating Jewish festivals and our immersive approach to introducing and teaching the Hebrew language. About the role:
The Assistant Head Teacher at Shoresh will play a critical role in supporting the Executive Head Teacher and Deputy Head Teacher in the overall management, leadership, and day-to-day operations of the nursery across both the Pre-School and our Baby and Toddler Provision. This role requires a passionate and experienced minimum Level 3-qualified educator with a strong background in early childhood education and an understanding of Jewish values, practices and traditions.
The Assistant Head Teacher will work closely with the Shoresh team to weave the Montessori approach into the fabric of the nursery, alongside an interactive and inspiring Jewish programme of learning. (You do not need to have direct experience of working in a Montessori setting, but we do require the candidate to have an interest in the Montessori approach).
The Assistant Head will work closely with parents to fully understand and embrace the needs and development requirements of every child, and will do so with respect, patience and empathy - qualities that are essential to upholding a homely and nurturing environment across our settings. We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Community Development Officer to support our work aimed at fostering a vibrant and cohesive Jewish community in Brighton and Hove. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Community Engagement to develop and deliver a range of social, educational and religious programming informed by the needs of individuals, families, BNJC residents, members and partners in both the local Brighton and Hove and local/national Jewish communities.
The Community Development Officer will be passionate about community-building and collaboration and play a key role in strengthening BNJC’s relationships and partnerships with local organisations and the wider community. They will help coordinate Shabbatonim and group visits to the BNJC site and work with the wider community engagement team to increase BNJC’s visibility and participation within the local and national Jewish communities.
We are looking for a candidate with at least 2-3 years of experience delivering community-facing activities within the Jewish community. The candidate should be comfortable connecting with community members, able to listen, gather viewpoints, and feed these back into BNJC’s wider programme of work.

We are looking for a motivated and organised Business Support Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our community hub, providing essential administrative support, and assisting with various business functions.
Providing an excellent standard of customer service, the post-holder will be the first port of call for all incoming enquiries from our customers and community members including prospective holiday let guests and event attendees. The Business Support Officer will coordinate holiday let bookings; liaising with guests and working closely with our Facilities team to maintain the holiday let properties in order to provide an outstanding guest experience.
A key aspect of the Business Support Officer role is to proactively communicate with stakeholders across the site with the aim of streamlining administrative processes, improving consistency across the organisation, and enhancing organisational efficiency and effectiveness. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of People and Operations on team coordination, office management and customer service.

Internship at the Office of the Chief Rabbi
The Office of the Chief Rabbi (OCR) is looking to recruit a committed and proactive intern to join this fast paced, high profile public office. The OCR Internship is offered to an outstanding graduate who has demonstrated a commitment to community service and Jewish life. This graduate placement will provide an excellent introduction to the Jewish community across the UK and to the work of the OCR.
The role includes:
· Providing logistical and administrative support for key projects and initiatives being run by the OCR team
· Editing audio, video and written communications
· Updating and maintaining the OCR website
· Administrative support to the Chief Rabbi’s Centre for Community Excellence
· Accompanying the Chief Rabbi to events and assisting with photos and videos
· Developing and improving the OCR database
· General assistance in the office
Person specification:
Essential
· Hold Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Salary: £24,000 per annum.
